I’ve spent over a decade working in the beauty industry — from Saturday jobs in salons, to make-up counters, a make-up tutor at White Rose Beauty College and as a freelance makeup artist - before launching Skinfluence by Laura-Jo during the first lockdown. Born out of a need to heal my own cystic acne - my mission with Skinfluence, is to demystify the jargon in the beauty industry and, bring the glow back to your skin.

Over the years I’ve worked with a wide range of brands, including M.A.C Cosmetics, Pixi Makeup, Urban Decay, Illamasqua and Carbon Theory — just to name a few.

As much as I love the beauty industry, I can’t deny it’s seedy underbelly of toxic misinformation. There’s no such thing as “bad skin” or “clean” skincare - and I am prepared to die on this well-moisturised hill.
